Barnard ladies, anyone down to read my essays?
Anonymous asked: what does UChicago offer you that Barnard doesn't?
Well first off, I have family in that area and it will my parents (and me) a little peace of mind.
Second, the financial aid situation is huge for me. I fall in the awkward middle class thing where I will not get a huge amount of aid. When I went to the U of Chicago information session they said they wouldn’t make you make out more than $3200 a year in loans since they just got a lot of aid money.
The flexibility and the ability to change my major a lot there will be super helpful. I also want to do research work regardless of my major and U of Chicago has loads of research spots available.
Other things like the house system also really appealed to me.
I still love Barnard but the family thing is pretty influential in my decision making.
Anonymous asked: why would you second guess it?
Well I have really, really have loved Barnard for the longest time. But looking at what I ACTUALLY want in a school (I have a giant list) University of Chicago seems to match all of my requirements are more. And, its financial aid would be a lot better for me. I really love Barnard, but looking at it more rationally I think I’m going to apply EA to U of Chicago, even though I have been considering ED for Barnard for awhile.
(ps who is this? come off anon!)
